Thermax Ltd. has also executed the first-of-a-kind project for generation of power from waste heat, emitted by cement kilns, at the 1 x 13.2 MW J K Nimbahera project. Thermax is currently executing a similar project for J K Lakshmi Cement, Sirohi. This power can be for captive use, or sold to the grid through a suitable PPA.
Cement manufacturers also have the advantage of using the ash generated from the power plant as a raw material for their cement plant. Thereby reducing cost of transporting of ash from distant utility power plants.
