Thermax Limited received the visiting President, Prof. Dr. Horst Koehler and the delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany, today at its factory in Chinchwad, Pune. The President, who is on a seven day visit to India, was accompanied by his wife, Eva Luise and the delegation that included government officials, business leaders and German media. Complimenting Thermax during the visit, President Koehler observed,“Your combination of healthy family values and professional management can be an inspiration for medium sized companies anywhere in the world.”
The visitors were earlier welcomed by the children from the Muskaan Learning Centre of Akanksha, the NGO that Thermax supports in the field of education. Ms.Meher Pudumjee said it was truly an honour for Thermax to host the President and the delegation. Highlighting the company's technology partnerships and business alliances with German organizations, she stated, “Thermax is in the energy and environment domain –areas of global concern and also of tremendous opportunities. Germany has a number of excellent companies in this space and we look forward to our association growing in the years to come.”
During the 90 minute visit, the President and the delegation visited the absorption chiller manufacturing plant at the Thermax factory. They had a first hand look at the eco-friendly cooling machines that Thermax exports to over 70 countries, many of them for installations in Germany including the Berlin airport. In the presentation that followed MS Unnikrishnan, Managing Director of Thermax briefed the President and delegation of Thermax's initiatives, especially in the area of clean energy.
