Thermal power plants are expected to account for the bulk of new investment in electricity generating assets in fast-growing emerging economies like India, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Africa, etc.
Thermax has teamed up with the world's foremost name in steam generation technology,
Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG), USA. Under a
technology license agreement, Thermax will offer the B&W's Radiant line of boilers for power utilities.
Thermax can offer the entire boiler-turbine-generator (BTG) package on a case-to-case basis.
With more than 700 units ranging up to 800 MW in operation, the Radiant boiler is possibly the most thoroughly field-tested and proven sub-critical power utility boiler in the world.
Thermax has bagged an order for the supply of coal-fired boilers of 750 TPH capacity each for an upcoming refinery's captive co-generation plant in Western India. Each of the boilers will have the capacity to generate 250MW of electricity. The boilers will be commissioned over a 30 month time frame.
